cool brother... let me know if you need a hand with the wiring... i am sure you can make it work!
The wiring will be no issue at all. I'm sending him the harness that plugs the light directly into where the stock bulb socket harness plugs into. Assuming the LED module fits into his existing lense, all he'll need to do is put something in there to hold it in place within the lense and he's good to go. If the LED module doesn't fit the lense for some reason, Joe, it looks like you'd be in business.
Replacing a regular bulb with an LED one is useless, not enough light gets emitted sideways.
You don't need an equalizer if you just change the brake light.
I've been there done that. I went back to the stock tailight.
Word of wisdom, when I bought a laydown tailight the company sent me an led bulb cause the bulb was too close to the lens and could melt it. http://www.customdynamics.com/motorc...z_LED_Clusters

Mike, I hooked him up witha full LED panel out of my cracked Kury tail light. As long as it fits, he should have no issues. It's very bright with a lot of LED bulbs in it (see pix above). I agree that the LED substitution bulbs that are made to fit into the sockets used for stock bulbs probably aren't strong enough to be safe. I've also heard of regular bulbs melting the laydown lenses and wouldn't suggest trying that.
Mikeurig,
Nice picture! I am looking into removable side plates (and the back rest, pad, ect.) and it looks like you have a set mounted. Were you able to do it without re-locating the tail lights? Thanks.

Blu, you don't have to physically relocate the lights (I assume you meant signal lights?) with a detachable sissy bar. With the hardware, you have to buy what they call a relocation kit but it doesn't actually move the location of the signals. As part of the install, you remove the signal lights, including cutting the wires, and change out the "stalk" but they go back on with the detachable hardware in the same place they were. I have the setup on my bike although I don't often mount my sissy bar so you can't really see it.
Mike,
Thanks for the info, I am set to go for it. I installed a shorter set of stalks on the signals a few months ago, so I am in on the secret of how to unplug the small connectors on the leads. I guess the short mounts will still work with the lights and the docking hardware. I just havent been able to get a straight answer from the stealer on how it all goes together.
