Default New Ignition position

Hey, does everyone who might of had an earlier model FXD type scoot have a little problem turning of the ignition. When I first go mine I always went to the bacxk of the seat to turn the ignition off. Another question is does anyones keys fall out of the ignition when not in the run or accesary position. Mine does so I was wondering if maybe my ignition switch could be bad.[sm=americanasmiley.gif][sm=feedback.gif]

Its usually the key and not the ignition the tooth can wear down if you have a spare try that.

I would have to redo the question. I forgot to say that I have an '06 FXDCI and that the key in the ignition falls out when moving the bike. I have talked to the saleman about this and he said to but the key in the accessary position when moving. I have an '04 FXD and had not had this problem with it.

If I have the key just put in and not turned either direction or when I get off and turn it off to move it falls out every time. 06 as well. so I guess your salesman was right.

Yep! Mine actually pops out because it's spring loaded. The first time I noticed it was when I shut off my bike and heard the key hit the ground. I'm not quite sure why they designed it that way but I think they all do it. KB[sm=badidea.gif]

I have had my fall out when I turn the ignition off sometimes. Due to the location I might be pulling slightly out on the key.

i thought it was a pain 2 start with but now i don't mind ,as it forces me to put key in pocket ,not leave bike with key in ignition.
