Personally I don't like the twin headlights, the black risers and the bobbed fender. for me it looks too much like the love child of a Triumph Rocket 3 and a Suzuki cruiser (marauder?). I do like the rest of it though.
I really like the ride. It took me a bit of time to get used to the handling (my last biking was thousands and thousands of miles on two BMWs I had, which have a totally different center of balance and feel) but once I did, it's a comfortable ride with an exciting drive train. I like the stock sound too. Very happy!
I like mine, a lot. Currently, I have the Fat Bob and a Deuce, I like the ride better on the Bob and it seems more stable. Plus, at speed, it isn't as buzzy. I sold my Road Glide and used the proceeds from that for the Bob. Never bonded with the Glide, at all. Living in the Ozarks, I'm much happier with the way the Bob takes the twisty roads.
I came over from a Sporty and I love it every time I get on it. Haven't had it for any long runs yet, but plan on taking it for one soon and it'll already handle wind better than the Sporty did. Handling is a dream and high speed corners are easy to take with those big tires and low speeds aren't a problem either. The low center of gravity and drag bars allow you keep tight on turns. Speed and taking off are pretty noticeable and I think its the lightest or next to lightest Dyna and Dynas are the lighter of the Vtwins. With all the aftermarket mods people are doing to the exhaust, A/C, and what not... the pick up is getting better

i meant more about how it rides... everyone is going to like it or dislike it in some way in regards to looks...
How does it ride...
I think its the lightest or next to lightest Dyna and Dynas are the lighter of the Vtwins.
It's actually, probably the heaviest dyna - but who cares. It's a dyna and it handles like a dyna and it's bound to be fun.
I know you don't care about the looks but I thought they were f-ugly when I first saw the first marketing photos. But when I saw my first one in person, I changed my mind. I could do without the dual lamps but it doesn't bother me either. And some people have already done some really nice mods to them that make them look even better. If they had been out in 07, I would have strongly considered it.
Love my Fat Bob! Handles so well on the curves that I drag my forward controls on a regular basis. Stock seat is extra comfy although I went with a Lepera Barebones for looks and the fact that it sits me even lower and further back on the bike. I changed out my pipes for 2" Rush slip ons with a Stage 1 download and SE AC. Sounds fantastic! Not too loud but you can sure hear it when you lay on the throttle. It's an amazing handling bike. Oh and speed? I get off the line extra fast, in fact I sometimes have to watch that I don't slide off the back of the seat some! I'm a very happy member of the Fat Bob Squadron.
well im concerned with the looks obviously, but those are more user preference, where are the mechanics are just about the bike, not the individual (hope that makes sense!)
I love the looks of em, the dual headlights kind of grow on you... where can i find a fatbob gallery? is there one?
