I am considering wrapping the pipes. Currently running Rineharts. Indy shop says he can wrap and still put my chrome heatshield over the top. He had a different style bike in his shop wrapped that way. Looked good and he says it works well.

Thanks, will be taking it in for the 1,000 mile soon and will say exactly that to get the dealer to make some adjustments for me. Thanks!

Added the IED's as well but before that ceramic coated the header pipe black which cuts out alot of heat and looks really good through the 'tommy gun' heat shields. We've had some good hot days out here in CA already and I've never complained to myself about the heat yet. We'll see what happens in Laughlin and Arizona.

I am also having heating issues with my new Dyna Low Rider 08. I asked dealer about an adjustment since it was running too lean and also getting alot of exhaust popping. Dealer said there wasn't any adjustment unless I did an upgrade?
I too am interested in the NightRider products if they do what they say, anybody have this mod?
thanks in advance,

Greg

Fuel Moto PCIII USB and Big Sucker A/C, about $400 and will dramatically cool your engine even with stock pipes.
There are other options, but that worked for me, I later added pipes and just had to remap (for free).
The added performance, even w stocl pipes, was a "gimme" to me, I was most interested in resolving HD and EPA screw the consumer stock settings.
I would have considered HD SERT but like most things HD provides to upgrade your bike, they think their **** dont stink so I often go elswhere.
SERT would almost surely out sell all the other options if priced reasonably.
My opine.
PCII, Big Sucker, used V & H straitshots slip ons, about 600 bucks, now go price HD offerings and you will see why the oposition is doing so much bussiness.
I plan on adding Thunderheaders so figure in another $550 or so. Still cheap by comparrison.
I dont wanna get into SERT vrs PCIII, Im just talking afordable upgrades.

Arnold,

Thanks for the rapid reply. You sound as if you know of what you speak! You are right, my HD dealer quoted me $1400-1500 to "cool things off".

Thanks again,
Greg
