Hey guys.
I want to get a sissy bar (detachable if possible) for my 08 Wideglide. I have easy brackets already installed. Has anyone done the leg work on this yet. I don't ride two up, I want the sissy bar so I can hang a bag (no, not the wife) off it when needed.
Think this will work on your bike. Just did it on mine. Don't think you'll need ALL of this, but it was my list, and easy to cut and paste. Check fitment before you buy it though;

There is a separate set of Easy Brackets sold for detachable side plates. All it consists of is longer bolts to go through both sets of mounting brackets, so, since you already have the Easy Brackets, all you should need are the bolts to accommodate them. Side plate brackets mount to the fender strut & the Easy Brackets go on next.
Have the set up on my bike & +1 with minot.
I have the set up you are trying to get to. The parts youneed from ezbrackets are thebolts from the kit: DNA-L3DB with Detachable Backrest , These bolts and the mounting kit for the detachable sissy bar ($25) will do the trick. Contact them and tell them what you have and what you are trying to do and they should just sell you the longer bolts. The longer bolts go thru the easybracket mounts and the sissy bar mounts into the fender strut, no need to move the rear turn signals.
I just picked up my first Harley last Saturday. I got a 2008 Low Rider. I ordered a rider's esential kit which they have to ship to me...hopefully get it today. Do those kits come with what I need to install the sissy bar or am I going to need these brackets you're talking about? It is supposed to include the detatchable brackets I believe. Anyone know if there are any tricks to install these kits or are they pretty simple?
