I own a Road King Classic and live in California. My brother lives in Ohio and wants a Fat Bob. He knows I'm a cheap bastard, so he's asked me to do the negotiations for him by telephone. Not being all that familiar with the Fat Bob, I'll defer to those with more knowledge. So for you guys with Fat Bobs, what kind a deal can I hope to get for my bro?
I'm sorry to say, no, nothing.... Had trouble finding this bike so I didn't hassle about the price, just told them "fine, get it off the floor before someone else ses it".... I did get them to throw in a tool kit, but that's nothing, really.... Hope you have better luck.
I paid $16800 out the door back in Oct. That included tax, titile, license, $500 accessory credit, first service free, 7% lifetime discount on parts and acc. and discount on all labor for life of bike. He also tossed in grips and pegs of choice and a load of t-shirts. I may could have gotten it cheaper but the service from this dealership is excellent. All in all I am happy.
Good luck on the negotiating. It's the beginning of riding seasons for many areas, and it is a hard to find bike. When I got mine last November, 2 guys came in right after me wanting to buy it. I paid list plus tax, tag, etc.
FatBobs are scarce right now, so the dealers won't have to deal too much.
+1 not that many around now all I have seen are list + I dont know where your bro is in Ohio But Jims HD in Mendon OH has a good rep nice people NW Ohio
I purchased mine a few weeks ago. The dealer didn't have it in stock and had to do a swap. I paid 15,300 for a candy red sunglo bike and $100 title fee. Bottom line is do your homework. I called several dealers and did a lot of research about prices and fees.
Paid $15,150 or there about in Nov 07. Black Pear w/forwards. Like some others said. They wont "deal" much if at all.
On thing to keep in mind is the Fat Bob comes with either forward or mid controls. If you find one you like and it has mids, I'd make them change to forward at no extra charge (Or vice versa).
