Default Service Manual

I am looking to get a service manual for my Fat Bob. Am I better off just getting it from the dealer or is there an after market manual available?

I just had my 1000 mile service done and the dealer and intend on doing all the following services myself

Thanks

You can sometimes find them on e-bay or buy from one of the 20% off online dealers like Zannito "not sure of spelling".

I didn't find any others a few months back when I was looking for one also. But do yourself a big favor and buy a parts book too. The service manual doesn't break things down like the parts manual does.

I think Clymer makes a service manual...but, Harley's manual is much better.

I had a Clymer manual for the Honda I used to have. I bought the HD manual for my Super Glide and immediately noticed that it was much nicer.

Buy the Harley parts & service manuals online from someone like Zanotti's. It's about a 20% discount off dealer.

Thanks for the advice, ezrider. Sorry to rip off your thread, Weezer.

Zannotti has them a bit cheaper but I got mine at the dealer - and while I was there I got another shirt and a vest. And then another pice of chrome, hahahahaha

Weezer,I just order a service manual and a parts manual for mine from Buffalo Motorcycle works last week and got both of them for less than one would cost at the dealer. These are the same manuals you would get from the dealer but half the cost. Ther web address is- http://stores.ebay.com/Buffalo-Motorcycle-Works or their e-mail is - buffalomotorcycleworks@yahoo.com If you haven't already gotten one you can't beat their prices. You can bid on them or buy them outright. For the two or three dollars I just bought mine. Oh yeah I didn't tell you what I got manuals for. I'm almost done building this one, its 1975 1000 Sportster motor (with a few extra goodies inside) on a paughco rigid frame. This one is a true blue old school chopper. Anyway hope this might help you out. Pete
