Well, I finally got my new 08 FXDC home after many many mods were made. The stealer finally got them right (after almost two months). Let me just say that I will NOT be going back there for anything. I would rather find an independent shop or something for anything else I need to do on the bike.
I FINALLY rode it yesterday and it is NICE... However, my boot is having a hard time getting under the toe shifter. I would like there to be a little more distance.
sure is just pull the bolt out and pull the shaft to you off of the splines and rotate it a notch or 2 and slide it back on. also mark it first before you take it off so you know where it start from its easy
its the shifter peg if its the stock round one than you cant do it just do it the other way if its a flat one just turn it up with your hand if you can
Very easy to change - especially on a new bike as the shifter shouldn't be siezed on the spline at all. A couple of suggestions though. First, before you put the shifter back on, put some anti-sieze on the spline so, later on, you can remove and adjust it again more easily if needed. Also, it will be easier if you get your boyfriend or someone else to help you so that you can sit on the bike and place your boot on the footpeg and have the other person place the shifter where you want it. Oh, and put some loc-tite on the pinch bolt when you put it back on as well. It's a good idea of getting in the habit of using loc-tite (blue usually - red, only when specified)on almost any bolt you put on or replace on your bike.
