yea, they're polishd alum. and require constant polishing. i've used most metal polishes and believe there is so little difference in them it hardly matters. polishing them only gets the tarnish off. the alum. remains unprotected and tarnishes again. use some wax after polishing to protect it.
Yes they are a pin to keep polished. I have to do mine again. Im thinking of using ZoopSeal like the Hot Rodders use on their billet parts. It helps to keep aluminum from tarnishing for much longer. I've never tried it, but have heard it works well.
I wonder if Flitz would work? They use them on S&W stainleass steel revolvers..shines 'em up real nice. I've heard nothing but good things about it.
