Mini Ape Hanger Play
How much play is proper in the mini ape hangers? Moving from the short solid bars on the Sportster I had, I can feel the mini apes give a little when I pull or push on them with my weight (not that much, only 170 lbs) trying to shift in the seat. I adjusted them some, and without a torque allen wrench, just tightened 'em in hard. They don't seem to be actually slipping, just seem to give enough to make me nervous

Get yourself some poly bushings.
A much more solid feel, than the rubber ones.
The longer bars move more because of the extra leverage.

Wondered about that when I bought my bob. They are made that way to reduce vibration to the bars. There are rubber bushings between the risers and the bars which you can replace with poly and cut that movement down a little.
