Got a nail in my rear tire yesterday. Pulled it and plugged it, and it was located just to the left of center on edge of my main wear lines. Seems to be holding well after 20 miles or so.
Should I ride with it or get a new tire? Heard lots of opinions on this so I thought I'd ask you guys.
You could tube it and ride happily or take the tire off and add a patch to the inside since you've already plugged it. I'd ride with the plug alone, the plug and patch or the tube. Never had a plug come out of a tire yet although that's just been my experience.
There are plugs that are combined with a patch that work real well. If fact that is the only way to repair a tire in Germany, a stright plug is not authorized.

Thanks ABN but I'm in Texas
Looks like I'll tube it, don't want to risk it with a two-up road trip soon. Thanks fellas!

Ace, there is a lot of good info at the Dunlop site.
Dunlop recommends only permanent repairs performed from the inside of the tire,
using a combination patch/plug method.
Never attempt a repair from the outside, or inject a sealant,
or simply use an innertube, a patch or a plug as a substitute for a proper repair.
