Iinstalled a set today and here are my findings:my bike is stock except for se slipons with the fiber packing removed:The idleis much smoother and stronger, not that it idled badly before it's just much better now.It sounds stronger both at idle and during partial throttle riding. At low speed in town riding it is quickerwith better throttle responce.Parking lot riding at extreme low speeds is smoother. There is definately an increase in torque, grabbing a hand full of throttle in 1st gear (no clutch) lifts the front wheel.I don't lug my bike but I shifted into 6th at 40 mph and it pulled smoothly without hesitation. It wasn't hot today but the engine heat did seem to be less.My bike had some decel pop with the modified se's,all gone now. Summary:for me there was a definate improvement,my engine with the modified se's was running leaner than I realized. The xied's added just enough extra fuel to give me very good results.I actually bought these things hoping to make my engine last longer as my main goal so the added power and smoothness are gratifiying.Installation waseasy and only required a screwdriver to remove the seat.I have no idea if others will seeresults as dramatic as mine but I am please with these things.

RE: RESULTS OF XIED INSTALLATION ON 07 FXD
I put em on my 08 Fat bob. Very easy install. My setup is basically stock, haven't settled on an exhaust setup yet, so I drilled the baffles through. I do plan on using the Doherty PowerPACC.
The heat difference seems noticable, The motor is smoother, snappier for sure. I'd reccomend this to anyone. Night Rider says these alter the the air/fuel ratio to 13.8 in closed loop mode which I understand is under 4000 rpm and up to 50% throttle. I don't know about you, but I don't do much riding outside of this range.
I don't think you can beat the results for the cost and ease of install.
My bike doesn't have severe heat problems like the dressers but I was considering an oil cooler in the interests of longevity.Since I'm already using synthetic oil I think the richer mixture will be all I ever need.If I were to change to a performance air intake in the future I would still consider the stage 1 download to richen the mixture above 50% throttle.Seems like that would be a good combination.
I installed a set last night on my stock fxdc, and only have a short test run, but did see the same impact, rolled the throttle in second and was lifted up, and doing 50 in a few seconds. sound even on stock pipes was improved, this weekend we finally have 85 degree days, so looking forward to testing the heat reduction..
sounds good, rawhide I am going to order me a set.I take it you ordered these from the nightrider website?did you call and talk to someone or just use the checkout?
I just used the checkout, there's been so much written about them in the fuel injection forum(38 pages so far)that I didn't have anymore questions. If these things were being sold as a dealer installedperformanceitem "screamin eagle afr tuners for off road use only" they would probably cost $300.Funny thing, nightrider markets these as a solution to excessive heat and downplays the performance gains and doesn't try to gouge on the price, must be honest people there. That works for me.

Rawhide,
Are you planning on adding a map or any other fuel management? I am running a V&H FuelPak now and am considering the XIEDs, but have not decided whether to leave the Pak in or ditch it after installing the IEDs.
No, I was fortunate in that the xied's exceeded my expectations so I won't strayany further from stock.I'm conservative when it comes to messing with the electrics on my bike and I'm still under warranty. These things can be removed easily if need be.Besides I think the stock Delphi unit is very adequate just too lean for best performance.H-D's hands are tied by epa regs. and I hear the regulations get tighter in 2010.
