The fuel tank on my super glide needs to be replaced. I'm trying to search on google for an unpainted replacement but not sure what to search under. I keep getting fat bob tanks or tanks for models older than mine. I like my speedo and tach on the handlebars so I don't want a completely different tank. Anybody know where I can look?
Also - anybody see those nostalgic harley emblems in the new catalogue? They say that they can fit on - again - fat bob tanks...but could they fit on my "future" new tank? I think they just go on with adhesive.
Sure, I could go for a stretched fuel tank but not sure where I have to look or what else I would have to change. I like the guages on the handlebars for a different look so that is one thing I don't want to change.
I am prepping a superglide tank to put on my Street Bob right now. Bought it off Ebay for 50.00 bones. Look up a seller named OtisRitman Cycles. They have lots of tanks. As you have found out, all Fat Bob tanks are not the same. Different fuel capacities. Different locations for fill and guages. Somewith access panel, some not. Just keep checking ebay daily and someone will list one soon. I hope that somebody catches up with electronic ignition and starts making some cool tankswith access panelfor the newer bikes.
Thanks - I'll look that seller up. Is the tank a true Harley tank (doesn't have to be) and/or was it primed, etc? Geez....I'd love to find a tank for $50!
