Default 98 FXDL Primary Chain

I replaced the primary chain, tensioner shoe etc about 2 months ago. Put in 1 quart of primary oil. Adjusted the chain to specs. 2 weeks ago the chain was making noise so I pulled the cover and checked, sure enough the chain was loose and there was no oil in the primary. I re-adjusted the chain again, put in another quart of oil. NOW, today I have chain noise again, no oil. Why is the chain loose, where did the oil go??? Doesn't appear to be an extra quart in the tank, bike doesn't leak. When I replaced the chain I noticed the compensator was worn slightly but not that bad. Any comments, suggestions??

Not sure about the continual loosening of the tensioner, but the oil sounds like alien abduction(sorry, I couldn't help it)
Seriously, it does sound pretty weird.
How many miles between the events?

Well, there goes my alien abduction theory.
That still sounds strange, 2 quarts of oil and no drips.
That belt has got to be trashed(and acting remarkably sponge-like)
Sounds like probably a bad seal.
Any noises, like a bearing?
Original primary chain?
How many miles on it?
