docsg,
If you are not read up on SERT, XIEDs, OIEDs, SEIIs, EFI, 2n2one, CO2, ECM, P0130, P0150, and AFR don't worry. I had to look up what an FXDLI was. Ride on with your low injected self.

Wait, you left out WOT, PCIII, FtLbs, PSI, OU8r2, LEO, IMO, WTF, and LMFAO..
Well, you are right--missed reading up on at that stuff--my bad and ignorance. But, I am familiar with FYATHYRIO--it increased the MPG on my "low injected self" from 25 to over 100!
Oh, c'mon, don't get all P I S S Y about it, we were just having some fun with all the acronyms that tend to fly around here. And if I had rode in on a horse instead of my harley I woulda let you know
But anyway, seriously, the Xied's are NOT going to increase your MPG, if they do then they are not working right. An AFR from 14.7 to 13.8 means you have either richened the mix ( which is what the IED's are supposed to do) OR you have decreased the amount of air; an air/fuel ratio.
Most of us are not restricting the intake, but getting the ECM to dump in more gas. This actually cools the engine running temp. because the burn is not as hot, nor as efficient, when you add more fuel to the same amount of air.
Good choice,I'm real pleased with mine, after you feel the increased low end torque you will be hooked.Try this:ride for awhile with the xied's and then remove them, you will put them back on.

Thanks for the help guys,I think I will go with the XiED since I plan one some sort of a A/C mod here before to long. I will let you guys know what I thinkafter they are installed and been ridin on for a few miles or 1000 since I will be leaving om my trip shortly after they are installed.
Rawhide, I wil try that, it is always nice to know what it was like after you install something. Hell, after reading these post I see a full exhaust system in the future no that there is a good chance I wont need a PCIII, SERT, FuelPak, etc...
I was getting 30 MPG with my PCIII installed. I took it off and am now running with only the Dyn Oieds so I am hoping for a increase in MPG. It definately can't get worse.
Ok,my bike is bone stock, but I was reafing on another thread how IED reduces engine heat. That is why I want to use IED's so i just ordered the Xied. I have n slip[ ons on intake mods at all ,,,here's the bone-head noob question,,,Am I just wasting money here?
I am running the Xied's on my currently bone stock FXDC. I was "feeling the heat" during the slow traffic stop n starts, in 65 degree weather, Since the install have been in the same conditons in 90+ degrees and am extremly pleased in the reduced heat from the motor and pipes. I do not have a temp gauge, but the radient heat is extremly reduced.
In Addition the throttle response is greatly improved, and it seems the exhaust has a bit deeper sound, more fuel in the combustion chamber is my opinion. To me it is a great mod for a stock ride, for a low cost. I too feel i am getting greater range between gears, and the first run with them i rolled it on after the 2nd gear shift and felt the front end lift, and was doing 50 in seconds in my 25 zone.... MPG around town is 45, and I would say I am running at the higher end of the rpm's of the gears then slow and easy... Until I get a tach mounted up I have to go by feel, and speed.....
So Stock bike I LOVE EM
Well, I ordered the XiED's from nightrider.com and man what a difference they made to the bike. \\; I immediatly noticed what alot of other were saying about a smoother running bike. \\; I was very pleased with the ease of installation, I planned on 15-20 min and it took less than 5 min and I was done and the bike was running. \\; I have only gotten to ride about 100 miles with them so far and the bike seems to run alot cooler. \\; That is just what I feel, no actual measurments to go with that statement. \\; One thing that I did notice as well was it seemed as if the exhaust fumes were stronger indicating a richer burn in the motor. \\; I am not sure if it is just me but I could really tell a difference in the smell of the exhaust gasses. \\; I am sold on these little boogers and for a measly 100 bucks compared to the tuners I say that it is money well spent. \\; I am running a 07 Lowrider with a stock air cleaner and some SEII Slip-ons. \\; For what it is worth I am another happy customer with XiED's. \\; I will heve alot better opinion of these in a couple of weeks since I am going on vacation this Saturday to Colorado and am taking the bike. \\; Should be a good trip, approx 1200 miles round trip. \\; I will let you all know if my opinions change about the XiED's after I get a few more miles out of the bike.
