I need to change the exhaust my 2006 FXDBI with Big Sucker and PCIII and d'like to know which kind of exhaust has the best sound (not too loud but with a nice rumble when you open the throttle) for my bike.
I tried thunderheader but is too loud, the cycle shack 2into2 but I think is too "electric". Do you have a pair of mufflers or a complete sytem to suggest?
dude, nobody is going to be able to tell you what you will like. \\; All you'll get is what they like. \\; We all are typically happy with our own exhaust sound and sometime want to talk others into getting the same thing. \\; Your idea of "not too loud" may not be the same as others. \\; It's best to look and listen around to other bikes and see if you can find something that calls to you.
Agreed with 2007. There is no "best" sounding pipe. It's very subjective as to what you like. yOU HAVE ALREADY PRETTY much eliminated thunderheader and cycle shack. I have had the opportunity to have both of those pipes on my bikes and I have also had screamin eagle pipes. All have different sounds. The more inmportant question is "Which one will give me the best performance"?
.02 V&\\;H shortshots ( in black ) with quiet baffles in... \\; thats it,, i agree with the points above BUT this setup gives you good deep Harley sound[8D]
Rush slipons, 2.00 baffles. \\;A little loud sometimes but mellow mostly.
 \\;
What I notice most is that when I pull up beside another Harley my bike is that full bottom end rumble and resonance that seems to be a sub woofer to the other guys rattles and pops.
 \\;
Just my world

+1 on personal choice.
Best to go on a benefit run or find someone with the \\;Sound that YOU Prefer.
Find out what they are running then go from there.
My Preference is, Bassani, Python, Samson, or Martin Bros.
Had the Rush and Pre EPA Screamin Eagles with the BCT Baffles.[&:]
i think you should remove the exhaust completely just run open cylinders... just gives it a free flow sound man i cna not belive you did not like the thunder header! that is my fav pipe by far! wish i had the $$$$ i am a fan of the SEII slip ons... the older ones... they have a nice sound not to loud, with good performance
