Default Fuel line

On the fuel injected models, I have a 2007 FXD, what is the purpose of the plastic connector at the intake end of the fuel line. I snapped it, but the stealer sells only the whole line. Can the plastic be removed and just the fuel line be clamped on? I need to ride, the stealer says no one in the country has it, according to thier data base, and the part won't be here till next friday.

Default RE: Fuel line

I had the same thing happen to me. Not sure what the purpose is besides a quick disconnect. The fuel line is pressurized, but the hose is attached with a clamp so don't think it would be a problem clamping directly to the intake...

There are some stainless ones on e-bay for cheaper than the stealer, and it looks better.

2 clamps and a short section of hose will work also. I snapped mine before Sturgis last year and it is still holding.

When removing fuel line with the disconnect and after the line has been purged of pressure, once removed, does any gas flow??? I need to slide my tank back to gain access to turn signal harness, to disconnect, to add the turn signal relocation kit.

no. once you de-pressurize the line, and disconnect gas won't drip from the line or the tank

just watch your crossover line its a pain in the a$$ and does not allow alot of room to work. if you can get another piece of hose with a screw or bolt in it and pull one side off and attach the extra hose quickly (so you dont get gas all over the place) then just take your tank off it makes it so much easier to work with the wires.
