I have a 08 Street Bob w/ dealer installed V&\\;\\\\\\;H Big Radius pipes, stage one kit, and screaming eagle air cleaner. My buddy just bought the same bike (Dyna Glide Custom) with the same pipes, stage one tune, and air cleaner and our bikes sound significantly different. Mine is louder with more of a popping tone while his sounds more muffled. Anyone have any ideas why? - Jay
Edit I guess what I'm curious about is if the tune was performed properly on both bikes or one of the bikes. Not knowing how the Stage One tuner works, I wondered if the installer(s) could have different setting for the timing etc. Coming from a more automotive background I always though it was fun picking out the car from the engine sound. (Everyone knows what a GT Mustang sounds like when it drives by). Well, our two bikes sound so different, they sound like two different engine types. Is this common with HD's?

Might not be the exact same tune. I also read on here that there isn't \\;a Stage 1 download for the 2007+ models that can be downloaded by the dealer. You either have to buy the SERT or another type of fuel controller.
As I have put miles on mine the sound has changed. \\; They are now louder and there is a bit more popping. \\; Give it a couple months and then compare again
I did not know they offered different baffles for the big radius pipes. That would explain it. As far as the tune we were both handed a small cardboard box containing a computer (chip ?) with what the dealer said was our original tune downloaded into it. It is a HD part as it came along with a DVD. Unfortunately, the DVD was not an explanation of the tune but more of a technical program with no examples or instructions.
Please pardon my ignorance on the subject, this is the first tuner type of thing I have ever purchased.
