It's the &nbsp\\;old question of form over fuction. I don't think anyone would argue that the dynas look better without a windshield.&nbsp\\; If you need one to make your life better..then put one on. It's a personal decision.&nbsp\\; Personally, guys&nbsp\\; post how good their winshield looks on the bike blah blah blah...I just don't get it. If it does it for you... God bless!

When the temprature drops to the mid to loe 30's my windshied goes on.Makes it a lot more comfortable to ride.I will probably put it on for long rides also.I cut the buffeting down to an acceptable level by lowering the windshield as far down as it will go right at eye level.

Go with the HD Quick Release. Leaves no hardware behind is fairly unobtrusive when on and helps lots in MN with the bug issue!! I do the same thing with the bags. Quick release (easy brackets). It's critical to be able to strip down to the bare Wide Glide look and feel for around town and shorty runs, but is great for highway and longer runs.

Bought a Memphis shades windshield for my 05 FXDCI and hate it.&nbsp\\; It's detachable and after fighting buffetting no matter how I adjusted the thing, I took it off and it stays in the garage no matter what.&nbsp\\;

I have a wind vest.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; Much smaller than any other wind SHIELD.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; Still prefer the "look" of the WG without.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; The Wind vest was a little tricky to get adjusted just right, but its set now and works well.

I agree with who ever posted about the fairing bikes.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; They look fine with the shield.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; Even better with the shorter shield.

Its personal preference.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; Go with what YOU want and ride smiling.

With few exceptions, there are usually&nbsp\\;two stages in the life of a rider:
&nbsp\\;
1.&nbsp\\; The young bucks who feel it's more macho to tough it out, &nbsp\\;get blasted by&nbsp\\;wind, bugs, rain and stones.
&nbsp\\;
2. The old ones who've been there, experienced it all, and know better.
