The last set I saw went for under $150 including shipping. There was a forum member taking some off recently that would have taken much less than $300, too. But I guess there's a lot of luck involved...just have to keep your eyes peeled.

Wow! - I would have bought a set for $150 in a heartbeat - just got tired of looking.
every time I tried it was always $300+ on ebay.
ended up with some new 13" Works Performance dual spring rates for $200, and the springs are chromed - not black - pretty good compromise.

Then the person that started this thread will be disapointed... I think he has long legs and wants more leg room.

But wouldn't it give more legroom? Seems to me that longer shocks would be moving the seat away from the swingarm, meaning higher off the ground. Maybe I'm missing something...

the seat and the pegs/controls are both attached to the frame.
longer shocks move the swingarm further away from the frame, but the foot position relative to the a$$ does not change.

if by "more legroom" the poster wished for a longer reach while his feet are on the ground while stopped at a light - then yes in that case he will get more legroom - otherwise no

I know this thread is old but I just have to say, I just threw on a set of these Progressive 440 13.5" incher's on my 2007 FXD and man what a difference. Its pretty amazing what an extra inch will do for handling. Since these are discontinued I got em for a good price brand new from jpcycles. I'm sure the 444's Progressive has now are just as good if not better. Also since I'm 6'5" when I'm at the light it feels good to sit higher up. Going to take it on a 400 mile trip this weekend 2 up to really get a feel for em.

Any pics? I pick up my 2012 FXDC today, and would like a little better handling/ride out of it, and would like to do this mod.

So I just got back from the 400 mile ride and all I have to say it was definitely worth it putting these on. I had em set on the softer side and they were fine with luggage and the ole' lady on the back. Easier getting on and off freeway exits, wind didn't blow me around as much, and bumps were a lot more friendlier.
