Default Foward controls for short legs.

Before we go any farther, I did search and non of the topics seemed to cover my problem definitively. I have forwards on my '07 Dyna, I believe they are HD's and I believe I have the stock pipes (see pic below). Now my problem is that although I can reach them, I find on longer rides I am getting cramped up because I am reaching out to them. I am sure it wopuld make a huge difference if I could get them back towards me an inch or two. So here is my question. Does anyone make anything that will do such a thing, either a complete new kit, or a different mount? I looked at Kuryakyn, but it seems that they only have extensions that will move them farther away for taller riders. I would love to buy something pre packages and put it on myself, but if not I'm thinking about going to the custom builder in town and seeing what he can make me. Has anyone ever run across something for this problem?

There's stuff that will do that, and seats that will move you forward...

...but I'd just stick mids on... better control, put on highway pegs and you get two positions to put your feet in on longer rides...

...pulling my forwards off today and putting on mids... can't wait, I've missed them since I got rid of my FXDL...

I'm short........as most on this Dyna thread know once they see my color of bike.
I could hardly reach the shifter peg with MID controls. So I got a REACH SEAT. Moved me up close to the tank and made a world of difference. If I scootch up really close to the tank, I can even reach my HIGHWAY PEGS now. So you might want to go to your local harley dealer and see if they have a reach seat you can try before you buy. That might be the simplest solution for you. I also got Kury Dually pegs with stirrups and that also helps with leg fatigue. Almost like having floor boards.

Like others said you can try some different seats.

Im short as well and I like my mids with highway pegs. I can brake and shift from both locations which makes it nice.

Put on a set of Floor Boards which mount where your pegs would go. You will have plenty of different positions for your feet, and your reach won't be as far, except when going for your brake or shifting.

Respects,
Ed

Get the Reach seat and put stirrups on.

Harley Reach seat is $150 and you can get the stirrups for $42 from www.KCInt.com.

I have no idea wht's involved in the extension kits. but I wonder if you could use at least some of the brackets backwards to move the controls towards you. It's something I'll be looking into, as I'd like to get my controls back a couple of inches.

Thanks for the replies everyone! Lot's pf good idea, I had never even heard of the reach seat before. I was looking at the stirrups as a comfort thing too.
For the hell of it, I'm also going to go to my local builder and ask them about a set of custom made controls. Looking at it again, I'm not sure if I could even move it much that way because of the exhaust, but I will find out what they think. See what a ballpark figure would be.
