Default 110" Mod questions (St. Bob)

I have heard here and there that the 110" Kit is not highly regarded but yet to hear why. Anyone here have any insight to this, is it some strange jealousy bashing or are there really issues with the motor?

1) is there loss of reliability?

2) not much power increase for the money?

3) or is it just over hyped?

I think the remarks have more to do with what you can get in the aftermarket for the same price delivering better performance.

The 110 numbers aren't poop. I know I read a post recommending a company from Prescott, AZ. They have a 107 kit that will put out 120+ftllbs of tq & hp. If I come across the actual post I'll post the link.

The company is gmr performance. http://www.gmrperformance.com/ Check 'em out. Wish I had the cash to do the 107, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

Looking over their site, they say that they have a kit that will allow for 131ci that can pull over 150hp. Good god man, I cant even imagine my Harley with twice the power.

well i believe the whole reason... for the 110" you have to split the case and bore it, plus i believe its a new crank. so if your gonna split the case why would you stick with SE junk. IMO SE stuff is overrated and overpriced junk. so with that being said GO big. Im sure a good 110" combo will put a smile on your face. But if i am paying or wrenching and them cases come apart im not gonna stay 110. 124" or 131", now as far as the 107 thats as big as your gonna get without splitting the case. and they make good power.

The SE stuff isn't that bad but there is much better value for your dollar. It generally seems that CVO bikes are prone to reliability issues but I question the original owner and how the bike was broken in. Read: factory hot-rod engine + anxiety to let 'er rip = problems; been there, done that.

Anyways, this aside, SE is decent but for the same price or a wee bit more, you can get a 113, 117, 120 or beyond.

I'll be doing a 120" from head-quarters on my Dyna and a 107 on my Street Glide. Plenty of consideration was given to the SE stuff (mainly to stay with HD) but dollar for dollar, places like HQ, GMR and others have built a reputation to offer a lot more bang for the buck.

However, do as you see fit. People will chastise you for a SE build but if you are happy and the engine is reliable, then all the more power to you but don't be surprised if others with non-SE builds are pushing higher #'s.
