Question Spokes making noise?

My front wheel makes a slight "pinging" or "tinging" noise when rolling my bike out of the garage or turning the front wheel when at a stop. Can only hear it when the bike is not running, it is coming the spokes, anyone know what this is ? Spokes loose? I tapped on each spoke, they all seem to make the same sound, are they loose? I just don't know,I asked the mechanic at the dealer last week, he shrugged his shoulders and said "I dont know what it could be, I wouldnt worry about it. I am worried.

Does it happen when you apply the brakes? If not, then it could only be a handful of things. Spokes - get a spoke wrench and see if any of the nipples are loose. Check a handful. If the spokes are loose, if you tap them with a wrench you'll know. If they give off a nice tone when tapped, they probably aren't loose. If it isn't the spokes, it could be the wheel bearings. You might want to pull off the front wheel and inspect them. You'll know when you see them if they are bad. The only other thing could be the steering stem bearings, but I highly doubt that. A quick check is to apply the front brake and try to compress the forks. If they're really bad, you'll feel the slop. Are you sure that it isn't just the front brake rotor? (the pads slightly contact the rotor, and if it's drilled, it can make a little noise, but it's nothing to worry about.)

Funny this post should come up. I've had my SB for over a year and I've just noticed the very same thing - rolling her out of the garage with the motor off. None of the spokes appear loose. I don't think it's always done this. I'd be very interested to hear if anyone out there experiences the same, is it a problem or concern?
