there is a sequence to retighten.... after repositioning the bars tighten town the rear bolts till the clamps in the rear are touching... then you tighten the front ones to 12-15 ft-lbs...finally tighten the rear to 12-15 ft-lbs... make sure the front ones are loose enough for the rear clamps to touch.
COVER YOUR TANK with a thick blanket or something that will absorb the impact if you drop those bars onto it. If they come down they can do some major cosmetic damage to your paint and even dent the tank when the switch housings hit.
Also, I disagree with one point, the riser clamp should not touch the risers at the front or the rear. My manual calls for tightening the rear snug, then torquing the front, then torquing the rear, but not tightening either down until they close the 'gap'.
