Default Dyno Help

Just got a call from my tuner for a SE build. Only got 96.4 hp and 89.8 TQ with a 2006 Dyna, 1550, HTCC Ported, 50MM TB, 251 cam, SERT, and LSR 2-1 exhaust. I know it can do better than that. Any recomendations?

Your right it should have done better.... the 50MM TB was a bit much, but it still should have dynoed out over 100 hp. I've got a friend with a 05 ultra classic, he went with the SE pro heads and cast piston 95" set up with the 257 cams which was a bad choise for the dur on his bike and he was running drag pipes which hurts more than anything and he still got 103 hp, it did improve when he installed the thunder monster power baffles from bigcitythunder.com....it also depends on how much time the tech spends on the tuner part on the dyno. Some techs will just slap it on and get onto the next job, it's not their money or bike, some tech take pride in getting their customers the most for their money and so they spend a little more time and produce a lot more.

what brand of tune are you using? H-D stage 2 download, SERT or something else? Are they tuning it on a dyno or just running it?

They tuned it on the dyno while running the SERT program and adjusting the map. I don't have the dyno sheet yet but will get it on Monday. There's gotta be more to this than what has been done so far.

Been doing some further checking and some of the dealers will just do an intial program that only goes up to 3000 rpm until you get 500 miles break-in on the new parts and then you take it back and PAY to have it reprogramed to get the best results, or re dynoed. after break-in they will dyno it up to what ever rpm your rev limit is set for.
