Default Help... Burnt nylon on pipes

Hey, Did something stupid Saturday night..Wore my Cordova - nylon riding pants that night because it was cold as hell and I haven't got chaps yet.. Anyway they got to close to the hot exhaust pipe and melted to it, leaving a nasty black rock hard substance on the pipe...How do I clean it off, anyone have any ideas?

thanks,
Mark

Someone once told me to use oven cleaner. Dunno if it works, but sounds reasonable...

I rested my boot on the pipe once and it left a black mark. Used Never Dull and it came right off. I use it on chrome or aluminum.

Be careful with oven cleaner, it's some bad ****. It will completely remove an anodized finish from aluminum, among other things.

Thanks Guy's.. A friend told me to use a penny, really works well, just let the pipes get warm and the penny will remove all those marks.. It's made of brass and will not harm the finish..

Thanks again and Ride Safe
