I just did at about the same time you posted this!!!!
the bike has a touch less pull on lower rpm's. It sounds awesome compared to those cheese graters in there...
I put some 1.5" bolts in there for a touch of backpressure. They actually are the bolts that fit a rear luggage rack from H-D..
don't seem to run hotter to me
Man mine is pretty loud with the baffles, and these pipes aren't even broke in yet. Not the wide glide pictured, but on my 2000 Nighttrain. But I think the motor is built a bit too which might make a bit of a difference. All I know is its far faster than my wide glide....
I had a bit of a problem getting the top baffle out. I put in big city thunder baffles and they make the pipes sound alot better. My buddy has the same pipes with the stock baffles and you can hear the difference. The bct baffles are about $80. Check their website for more info.
I have V&H straight shots and removed the baffles and put in lollipops and I love the sound and lil extra up top. Doesn't seem to affect the pipe temp either but then I never shot it with a IR temp gun either. I recommend taking the baffles out.

BCT baffles +2.... love them
if you remove them and have a tuner you will have to retune.... not a big deal to pull them out if you have a carb... but if you have EFI you will need to play with you tables a bit
