xbox have you gotten your answer?
Things to look at.
Spark Plugs, do they look black when you pull them. Check them both.
Is your Big Sucker all plugged up or does it seem clean?
Exhaust pipes are the all black inside? Wipe the inside with your finger.
Have a dyno RUN done. I see $25 specials. It shows the fuel air ratio over the different RPM's. That will tell you something.
If all the checks out it must be a severe problem in the right wrist area.
Good luck.
PS 45+ on my scoot 99 fxd , stage 1.
Thanks for following up with me....
It never occured to me to Dyno it, because I bought thundermax so i would not
have to dyno it....
Also I had the same bad milage when the bike was stock.
But I just got the 5000 mile service done, and going to reno tomorrow (street vibration), so i'll check my milage for the trip see if I get any better milage...
When I get back I'll have that other stuff checked out too.
update on Daisy, she went into the dealer on Tuesday went under the knife on Wednesday, apparently the tune was good, but she has a bad O2 sensor or a bad fuel injector. When she starts up she goes real rich then real lean then back to rich and stays that way. The dealer called and asked if I had put any fuel additive in, and I was like, the bikes got 2k miles on it, why the hell would I add fuel additive?!?!?
*UPDATE* well they thought it was bad O2 sensors, or a bad fuel injector, they found a tech bulletin regarding sluggish 02 sensors, and it all looked like I would have Daisy back yesterday, but now they are saying they have no idea whats causing it and they are waiting for the Moco to reply them
Good luck! They should get it fixed for you. My 07 is stage 2 Big bore w/cams. Getting 31-33mpg in town, 42mpg on hiway @75mph (depending on wind conditons).
*UPDATE* the are putting the new o2 sensors in today and putting her on the dyno in the morning for a complete remap, hopefully I will get her back tomorrow
My 05 has a DFO, open a/c, low restriction slipons. On a four day trip (1200 miles) averaged 45 mpg, last leg on the way home worked out to 55 mpg. It seems your dealer went rich on you. go for a good ride then check your plugs, black and fluffy is rich. Fuel requirements, I might be wrong, nothing below 91 RON and nothing higher than 10% ethanol blends. Get a retune.
I'm was getting 45 in town and 50 on the highway on my 05 FXDCI and that was with a K&N filter, stage 1 kit and V&H Big Radius pipes. I just went back to stock exhaust today so I am curious what the mpg will be.
Don't ask why I went back to stock exhaust, it's too long a story, but just think Myrtle Beach and their new ordinances.
i dont know whether under 25mpg is still considered as normal.
But my fxdx (k&n breather kit, SEII slip ons) normally does +/-29mpg or about 8ltr/100km or 1ltr/12km. I believe it should do better than that since it's only a bike? but how? even a car can do that kinda mpg.

any of you guys ever used octane booster?
25 MPG is crap! I average 45 MPG with my 08 FatBob.
