Why does my bike idle so high???
I have always noticed that my fxd idles pretty fast and people constantly ask if it's supposed to run like that. Truthfully, I'm not sure. I didn't know if was just a twin cam thing. I figured the MOCO would have it set where it needed to be, but it doesn't have that cool "put-put-put" sound like my dad's old shovel had. Let me know what you think...Thanks

Yah, my FXDC idles faster than I would think appropriate. However after a good warmup and a few miles, the idle comes down. However not the classic "potato, potato, potato" that you're talking of older bikes. I've heard several things from "fast idle during break-in", to "it's an EFI thing". I'm getting my 1000 mile service tomorrow morning, I'll let you know if they decrease the idle any.
