stock shocks
Got a 97 low rider with stock shocks...about 12K miles on her. Quite a few times now, I'd be going about 50-60 mph on a nice sweeping turn, but the back end felt really wobbly. Actually it's very unnerving, enough that I need to slow down !! I've got a 81 FXWG that feels very planted. Anyways, I checked my air pressure; I was down 5 lbs. Filled it back up to 40 lb, but still, something was wrong. I looked at the shock, it was on 4. I changed it to a 1, and that was was the ticket. I didn't believe the difference, but that was the problem. Now, I can go as fast as I dare, and the ride really isn't that harsh either.
I prolly will still get shortened shocks, but just wanted to share this with my fellow riders, check your shock settings.

I dropped my shocks down to 2 the other day and noticed it feels a little better. I way about 195, ride solo. I am going to try them on 1 and see how that feels.
Now if I could soften up the front a little I'd be set.
