Default Fat Bob Seat Options

Got my 09 Fat Bob delivered last week. Love the bike. One problem is apparent. My ole lady can't stand the passenger seat. Says she feels every bump and does not enjoy the ride. I am going to have to do something about this quickly. I was wondering if anybody had recommendations on a new more comfortable seat?? I was also wondering if changing the rear shock setting would help at all? It is currently set right at the middle position. Any info or insight would be appreciated!!

Yep, we made it about half a block before wife told me to turn around. Said she'd get back on when I got a different seat.

The Fat Bob has a very good comfortable seat for the rider, but the way it slopes down to a point makes it pretty much useless for a passenger.

Good news is there are lots of options for a better 2-up seat.
I went with the Harley Touring Seat (part number: 51472-06)

That seat made all the difference in the world for the wife. It may not look as good as the stock one, but if you want your wife to ride with you your going to have to do something.
I also added the detachable seat hardware (thumbscrew), so I can put the factory seat back on in seconds if she is not with me.

Take a look at the other 2-up seats Harley has:

A lot of people go with the Sundowner, as it is another comfortable seat. And don't forget to check out some of the other manufacturers too. Mustang has a pretty good reputation also, and I am sure someone else with personal experience with that seat will chime in.

Lots of options for ya

I've been looking at Mustang & Corbin also. Haven't made up my mind yet. Same problem as you, my wife can't take more than an hour or so on the stock seat. Make sure your rear tire is inflated for two and tighten up those shocks a notch - makes a huge difference.

Just changed my stock to a Sundowner to accommodate the wife - she's delighted, but its not at all the same riding feel as stock - you sit higher (float more on top rather than in the bike), thighs spread out more, not so happy myself. Certainly looses the bit of riding attack that I liked with the stock. As I moved the stock to my Street Bob where it suits a dream, I will probably put a single seat back on for the more aggressive solo riding that suits the Fat Bob so well and then change to slower mode with wife as and when I have to.
