New Street Bob owner - comment & question

). Just have to say that I am totally in LOVE with this bike. I was, to be perfectly honest, scared stiff when I first got on to ride it home, but I immediately felt comfortable on it. Actually, I find it puzzling - I am MORE confident on it than I was on my Sporty (Nightster model), in the twisty turnies! It just seems to handle better. I can't put my finger on why, but I just feel more confident, and even hubby said he can tell already, I am riding BETTER (not always having to play catchup on those twisty turnies). Before, on my NIghster, I would tend to slow down on the turns and then have to throttle up to catch up! Now I am staying right with him. Go figure. Now for my question. Or two, actually.
One: I am thinking I might want to put highway pegs on, and yet I can't find (at least in the JP Cycle catalog) the "bar" that the pegs would go on - only the pegs! Am I not looking for the right thing?
Two: Has anyone put pullback risers on a Street Bob? Or do you have to change out the whole handlebar setup? I already loosened them and moved them lower to bring them closer. I think I'd like the bars a bit closer to me but don't want to make them lower, so that is why I am thinking a slight pullback riser.
O.K. Am I entitled to a third question?
Three: Any suggestions for a seat that will look good on the Street Bob that will help lower me a bit more, and maybe be a bit narrower? I am barely flatfooted, and find that backing this comparative beast up is difficult because I don't have a really firm footing, so can't get enough leverage. I do NOT want to be one of these women riding a bigger bike who can't back it up herself (I have, or had, a friend who bought a bike that I personally though was way too much for her - she always had to have someone push her to back up, and I do NOT want to be like that).
thanks for any and all comment (positive ones, that is
).
As far as pull back risers on your 08 you would need to change out the top of the triple tree since the risers are built in.
I bought the Harley Highway pegs for mine. They were about $150 but have a nice look.
Another option would be to look up Allen at Mean City Cycles. He is a forum sponsor who modifies the shape of the foam in your stock seat to better fit your needs. He can also do gel inserts and memory foam. His prices are reasonable compared to the $400.00 or more you may dump into a quality seat.
(Just noticed others posted while I was hunting and pecking keys. Sorry for the dupicate info.)

#2 Your stock risers are only 1" . If you put on pullbacks you will actually increase the height of the bars and will need longer cables. Drop em a bit like you have done. If you want to stay with the mini apes, this is really the only option.
#3 Rather than change the seat you can also lower the bike by changing the shocks. Try Progressive 412's ( 11" shocks ). Your stock shocks are 12" and by changing to 11" you will feel a big difference. You can get them on Ebay or through

The SB is lower than the Sporty so being closer to the road, the better the handling. I have scraped my pipes from severe leaning.

Guess I will have to get some 16" apes instead..
