If you've rode both, what did you notice? The WG is no longer made, so when I get one it'll be used. Until I ride my friends FXWG, I never knew what I was missing. Put my softies to shame. The WG fit me like a glove. Ride was incredible.
Whoops, think I meant Street Bob. I've shown how little I pay attention to the latest fodder. I had a hard time moving from Pans and Shovels to Evo's.... let alone twinkies. ugh..but they are good motors for the most part. I still think the Evo was the pinnacle. Easy to build, repair, work on, etc..

You might be able to find a new 2007 WG if you look hard enough.
Or, there is a guy selling an 05 WG in the bikes for sale section cheap.
As far as the comparison, there is none. They are both great but completely different animals

I have only ridden 3 Harleys , 2 Sportsters & my 01 WG
After I saw this WG I knew I had to have her!!
Other than personal preference on looks, what are the
Main differences in youropinion?
Never rode a Fat Bob, but I'll say this. If you have never rode a 2006 or newer Wide Glide, then you don't know what you're missing. All the Dynas were upgraded with a new chassis in '06. They are all great bikes, and are superior to the Softail ride. So if you're getting a Dyna, you'll be very happy. Owning a Wide Glide, I can say if I would be in a position to buy again, I might go with the Fat Bob,, just because I think it looks cool and I know it has to handle great. Fat front tire, short front shocks, and drag bars. That should all add up to an awesome handler.
My 2 favorite Harley's. Part of me wishes I had waited 1 year to buy my WG, the 06's have some advantages over my 05, but now that I have modified it to my liking, I plan to ride it till it just won't go anymore. If I had to buy a new bike today, it would be the Fat Bob.
So very true TIDE, the 06 rear fender sux compared to the 05, but you have to admit the stouter front end is nice on the 06.
I like your 05 better than the next gen. models!(especially it's big old knockers up front...LOL)... advantage to 05 is they have way less kinks than these newer ones do... Guys with the newer bikes have a lot of reports on these forums of problems that no one seems to have occur on their 05's.
As far as wideglide vs street bob...both bike are awesome and the one you pick should speak to you! The shorter wheelbase and less raked front of the bob should allow for a little more agressive cornering.
I think if i could do it all again i would still go with the wideglide, have only one complaint about it and that is the riding on unlevel highway your front wheel gets caught in the grooves at times but that also happens on my R1, just a stronger pull when on the WG.
