Default Looking for a Dyna / advice

Hello there, I've been a Forum member for over 2 years, and I spent most of my time in the Sporty forum. On October 20th I was rear ended on my '05 XL1200C and to make a long story short, I will be totalling my bike and I'm looking for a Dyna as a replacement. Right now I can narrow my choices to a few different Dyna models - namely the Super Glide Custom, Street Bob or WG models.

Since I'm not all that familiar with the Dynas, I'm looking for some direction. I spent over 2 years and 20k miles on the Sporty Custom and I'm ready for a BT. No disrespect to the Sporty crowd, but I'm ready for something more comfortable and I want to keep my payment reasonable so I'm not considering the Softail line for now.

I'm open to any and all suggestions...For some background info, I ride primarily to work/or errands as the weather permits here in the northeast and take occasional day trips with a passenger. I've been averaging about 10k miles per year. My commute is only about 25 miles round trip to work and most of my riding is one up. Looking forward to your input...

My opinion. I had 2 2001 Sportsters (883c and 883H) and a 99 1200. I now have a 2006 Superglide FXDI. The 6 speeds came out in 06 and I HIGHLY recommend them. The 88" motor went to 96" in 07. The 88 has plenty of power! A street bob is is a superglide with ape hangers and lower rear shocks (black engine, bla bla bla) Very fast, very nice handling bikes. Oh, and fuel injection is awsome. Thanks for listening.

Street Bob is a great all arounder!

Can't go wrong with any of them so it depends on your price range and what you want the bike to look like, really. Each model has its own character and they all lend themselves well to making them your own. If you like the bobbed fender and dual headlights, check out the FatBob. If you like a more blacked out look, StreetBob is a good start. If you like chrome, though, the best bang for the buck is the Super Glide Custom. It's only about a grand more than the basic Super Glide and has quite a bit of value in chrome and comes with a bigger tank, setup for 2-up riding, gauge on the console, and stuff like that. Probably would cost you well over that difference to do similar things to a standard S-Glide. The 2-up thing is something to consider with the Streetbob as well. It comes setup for solo. I won't get into the black vs. grey motor argument but if you have a preference, that limits your choices a bit. I like my bike solo as shown in my sig pic but I can switch it over in about 3 minutes to a nice 2-up seat, sissy bar, and windshield, throw a bag on the back, and go anywhere I want. Good luck with your choice - you can't go wrong with any of the dynas as far as being an upgrade.

I went from a Sportster, to a Dyna and now my wife and I both have Dyna's; couldn't be happier. We tried a Road King two-up a couple of times before she bought her Dyna; the most versatile solo machines in the showroom for the kind of riding we do...sounds like a style choice between the Dyna's you like.

That is a nice looking sportie, to bad it was wiped out. I went from a 883 to a 09 custom. All of the dyna line is great, however if you want two up right out of the gate the custom, low, fat bob are ready for to up. If you want a used one, the wide glide is ready to go. The FXD and FXDB are solo

Buckminns HD in Xenia, Ohio has a new 2008 FXDB for & 12,000.00 + TTL out the door
it is a demo with 260 miles on it color red denim

If you do the 2up thing frequently then i would go with a wide or custom. But if you like the look of a street bob, then you can add pegs and seat for little bit of money, 200 bucks if shop around (i got a stock lowrider seat from ebay for 100 and the pegs and mounts are 100)
