So earlier this week I was sure I wanted to put some drag bars on my 09bob. But after looking at lots of pics of street bobs with drag bars I am not so sure. I really think apes compliment the lines of my bike more, but mine are to short and narrow, I think I would like to put some 14" apes that are 30" wide on the bike but I am unsure if the stock cables will work, I see from the search feature that JRK made his stock cables work with 16" apes witch make me think I would be fine.... But I am having trouble finding some that I like, it seems like they all are to wide at the base were they go through the riser. Any one know if my cables will work and have some suggestions on some good looking apes??
1st your current apes are wider than 30" . Next... Nash motorcycle company Gimps.
will take a while to get though. I ordered on oct. 1 and they just sent a sorry about the wait, powdercoater backed up letter to my email this morning. ***... get a new powdercoater or a backup!!!! They are now selling them for 20% off!
If you have a lot of patience and don't mind waiting forever for their powdercoater the gimps look real good!
And on wed. they told me the bars were gonna ship yesterday or today

Nope pretty sure we measured them at Jp a while back and they were 27" from end of grip to end of grip... had 31.5" on my sporty and loved the width and these are defiantly narrower then that. I was looking into the nash gimps just not sure i want to wait that long I know it is almost winter and I wont be riding anytime soon but I dont like to wait that long besides I want them chrome not black not sure if you can get Gimps in chrome though?
I love your apes too, what are they other then 14.5" tall like brand or part number??? Also wonder if your apes would work on my bike with stock cables
P.S. Love your tank lift also.....Love mine too!!!

I ordered my Gimps on Nov 7th and got a UPS tracking number for something this afternoon. The only thing I had on order were my bars. Maybe they were waiting on my order to send them to the powdercoaters. I don't mind the longer wait people are talking about cause it allows me to space out my purchase of switches. I'll have to ask the wife if shes got something on order.

BIGDADI the 08 mini apes are 31.5" according to H-D I have not seen the dimensions on the 09 so maybe they did narrow them. sorry I was assuming they were same width as my apes only internally wired now.
