Default Black apes on a Wide Glide ?

Well I found the style of apes I want to change to, but I can only find them in a black powder coat. So I am trying to decide whether I should go for it as my winter mod, or stick with chrome on my WG. The black ones are 4" shorter and 5" narrower, than my current apes, and the chrome ones are same height and 5" narrower.
The black ones are dimpled and drilled, the Kodlin chrome ones I like are not.
Would keep my chrome hand controls either way, thought it might set it off with black bars, but just having a hard time pulling the trigger.

I could buy them raw and have them chromed, but that means more time and expense.

So, I am open to your thoughts and ideas. Both are roughly equal in price $130.00.

Black ones are Road 6 Customs, they sell on ebay, and the chrome ones are Fred Kodlin bars.

Funny, I am struggling with the same thing over the exact same bars. I have a Heritage and I think the chrome would look better, but the lack of knurling worries me with the Fred Kodlin bars and I dont want the expense of chroming the others. I thought about painting the road6customs bars black cherry to match my bike. I still havent decided, I may just scrap the whole idea and go with basic apes.

I think the chrome ones would look good on your bike.

I think the chrome ones unless you are thinking about blacking out more of your bike.
you could always mask off and spray your current ones black... Just to determine whether or not you like it. After, paint can be rubbed off with some wd-40 or brake cleaner on a rag.
(obviously don't prep you bars just spray the chrome)

Yeah man, normally I'm ALL for a black bike, or black products on a bike, but your bike would look way better with the chrome handlebars. I think the black bars would look out of place. Just my thought though....

You guys confirm what I was thinking, if those chrome were dimpled and ddrilled they would be on already... I really like that look, guess I will be drilling them myself.
Thanks for the feedback.
