Ya, it was the peg, folded up while I was riding and took metal off the outside bottom of them. My other bike is an 03 FXDP, it has longer shocks and didn't drag this early. I was just in a parking lot doing what I consider normal riding around.
I would like to get at an inch higher, two would be even better. I started looking around but it doesn't look like anyone makes like 14"+ shocks for dyna's. I found some 15" shocks for sportsters listed, Progressive 412 15"for 79-04 sportsters, could I put them on, or would they be too weak for the extra weight?

call them they will set up a shock to your weight and riding style....many different lengths...streettracker series $450-$500. best shocks for the money.
These works people seem to have some taller ones, at least 13.75. I see they had some on ebay for under $400 left overs set up for my weight. Hopefully the will still be around after Jan 15th (pay day).
I think the 03 FXDP ran 13.5, so 13.75 would be fine for riding around. Thanks allot for the help. Once I figur out how to get pictures up, I will toss some up :]
I'm want to get some 412's for my 07 Street Bob. I just bought it and I want to ride with the wife every once and a while. I'm sure she won't ride very often. Together, we will weigh over the listed 225lbs. Should I get the HD shocks or will the standard shock be OK? Will the HD shocks ride rough if it's just me (185lbs)?
412 HD's will ride very stiff for your weight but set on the lightest setting they will get you in the weeds if you like the low look.
A-10 KChawg, The 412's hd will be to stiff for your weight I think. Im runnin the 412 hd and it's good for me(280 lbs) but think the standard probably would fit you better.

I put some P/S 440's on my FXD35,they were great for solo riding and two-up. They adjust in seconds. Nice A10,we used to see 'em all the time over the Yorkshire Dales.

The stock shocks on my FXDX were 13.75" and I went with the 13.38" Works Tracker shocks. Huge improvement and I haven't had any problem dragging the pegs. I do drag the Bassani on the right handers though.
Put your bike on a jack and remove two bolts on the shocks(either top or bottom) and use the jack to determine what a 14 inch shock will look like on the new Dyna frame/rear fender. It will make the rear look like a dirt bike. With forward controls you will need to lift the front as the rear won't change the peg position much. You can have some spacers machined to add length to the front or go with a shorter topout spring. Both will reuire fork disassembly. If you raise the rear, yo will need to raise the front the same amount to maintain the stock rake and trail. You will also have to bend or lengthen the kickstand to prevent excessive lean angle on the stand.
