Just put the SE intake on the fat bob.. dont know if power had changed yet because it is raining out and didnt get a chance to ride after the install. if anyone else has already dont mod please let me know if and how much diff you noticed. here are some picks.. https://www.hdforums.com/forum/membe...9-fat-bob.html
to my 06 Street Bob last week.. I love the look, but as far as performance goes it's interesting. I'm hoping some of the REAL technical guys will get involved in this..
I have V&H Short Shots and a Power Commander. I couldn't find an exact match for a map when I did the SE intake, so I downloaded M811-003 I believe.. It's for a SE Air Filter, and V&H Big Shots Staggered.. Then I recalibrated the throttle position. Seems to have some more oooomph.. but pops a bit more on deceleration - but not bad. I'm wondering if it's worth taking it somewhere and paying to have it dyno tuned at a power commander authorized service place.
Seems like it's running good and it looks badass.
Did you re-map yours?
I didnt remap or dyno mine because the only thing i put on was the heavy breather.. Pipes and PC are coming next but the guy at the harley dealership said i wouldnt have to touch maping wiht only a breather..
When you get a new intake is when you have to get new mapping, because you are getting more air but not fuel. I've heard you can change out the exhaust and you don't have to mess with the mapping but it's a must when you get an intake. Anyone please correct me if I'm wrong.
Looks good. You may not want to ride much without the PC because like one of the orther guys said more air and not enough fuel, which means seizing or holes in you pistons, from what I was told.
Yeah, I wouldn't ride much at all with out remapping that thing. More air and no extra gas to mix with it equals a lean condition. If the dealer told you that, he's wrong. An engine is simply put... and air pump. More air in should equal more air out. Keep the mixtures equal on both ends. I changed out the mufflers and added a set of Xieds to balance the volume out as much as possible.
