In closed loop your ECM uses O2 sensors to make adjustments in fuel trim

If it were mine, I would get the SERT.

Thanks for the info. It's a difficult decision to make especially when I know nothing about tuning.

Confederate, if I were to go with a sert or the new super tuner from HD, are there any "canned" maps for those? I may eventually have it dyno tuned but don't want to do that right away. I also don't want to spend the money and have something that I can't do anything with. I'm not against reading and learning how to tune but I don't want to be in over my head either.

TTS is better than SERT and you can use the VTune to get better drivability with it until it comes time for a dyno. Its really pretty simple.

The problem with a canned map is that it's generic. Your bike, in your location, may run like crap on it. IMO, the canned map is only good enough to get you to the dyno and have it tuned correctly. If you don't want to do that, then you either have to go with the Tmax or TTS unit. Unless you are ok with a bike that runs poorly.

i have a "canned" map from jamie at fuel moto, my bike runs strong , plugs always look perfect , plus gettin 43 mpg..
if you have a problem jamie will tweak the map for you, but youll need a laptop to update the map..

If money is no object, I'd get TTS or Thundermax w/Autotune...some will say TTS is the better of the two, and it is cheaper, but hey...I'm not paying for a $300 dyno every time I change something.

I think for basic to moderate mods the PC lll/ PCV is a very good option for the price. Its easy to install and easy to load new maps and you can get it Dynoed if you want.

I have ran several quads with PC lll's and now have a PCV on my SG and all of them have ran strong on canned maps.

If not looking to spend alot of money but still want alot of adjustability the Power Commanders are a good choice.
