Yes, they work only in closed loop. Under WOT your MAF, VE, and PE tables take over, this also requires the use of a wideband sensor for proper tuning.

For the gentlemen looking for EFI info I believe there is a thread call "EFI 101" or something like it, with more information than you'd ever care to know!

With the Screaming Eagle Race Tuner

tuning is accomplished on the dyno

by someone who knows what to manipulate in the available parameters.
And there are hundreds of variables.

The way my map (not MAP) is built, the o2 sensors never come into play.

Everything that the ECM knows and does
was set up to do what we wanted
(135 ft lbs torque from 2200 rpm to 4500 rpm).

Nice bit of info there mud. Didn't know that the O2 sensors were at the bottom of the "sensor priority chain", and that the ECM can choose to not react on their input.

That makes systems like the PCIII(+) even more attractive.

Depending on their intended use I disagree with this. Closed loop operation (relying on O2 sensors to adjust fuel trim) is hands down the best system for a cruising machine.

Speed density and or complete open loop rely on the calculation of air density/temp and MAP to run correctly. To tune this way i.e. with a PCIII is a lot less exact and in the way of cagers' speed density tuning is very complex.

Better left on the track, IMO

So I assume that the PC V takes care of this problem, since you can keep the O2 sensors plugged in ??? I also would hate to spend 800.00 for the SE plus dyno when teh PCV would work!
I am so confused!

you don't keep the 02 sensors with the PCV it uses 02 eliminators just like PC3.,unless you upgrade to the autotune modules and wide band sensors.
