Question on model #'s
Purchased a 99 superglide this fall and i have a question on the model number. If i type my vin code in on the Harley website it says my bike is an FXD model. The ownership papers says its an FDX. Is their a diiference?
What "ownership" papers are you talking about? Your Title? Or your Registration? Those are the only papers that count. If the title is wrong, you'll need to go to your state's DMV and get the title corrected. Your local DMV office can tell you what you'll need to do this.
You are suffering from a typo, or someone writing out those papers who doesn't know their Harleys! As the others have said, you've got an FXD. Harley are likely to be right on this sort of query!

Thought it was a typo but wasn't sure. I don't think it's an FXDX as i believe they came with a black engine. It's my first bike so i didn't notice it when i bought it, guess i should'a. Pics back up the story, guess i'll go to DMV and see how much they will charge me to change the two letters around. Thanks for the responses.
