I was out riding today and came across another biker riding an FXDWG3. His bike was really tricked out, something I had not seen done to a WG. Since I own a WG myself, I was really interested in his scoot. He informed me that he had done little more to the bike than the way he purchased it a few years ago. The paint job was a fabulous candy apple red color. Apparantly HD sold two versions of the WG besides the stock bike. One was a G2 and the other a G3. Eventually, HD began to sell Scream'n Eagle versions and the G2 and G3 were no longer in production.
Can anybody provide any information about these two bikes? I would really like to know more about what modifications and paint were used on the G2 and G3. I noted his front frame was painted, as well as the battery cover.
I found a pic of the 2002 G3 on the internet for those who haven't seen this beauty.
Hope somebody can help me out here [sm=helpout.gif]
Excellent question...glad you thought to ask. I saw a G2 a few years ago at Harley of Edison, NJ...I had no idea at the time what it was. I believe the G3 has a tan colored seat...don't know much more about it (or any other specifics) I, too, would love to know more/see more pics!
The pics above are of an '01 FXDWG2, which came in red with the brown seat. The black bike in my sig is an FXDWG3, only made in 2002. They are CVO bikes. The first falf of '02 they were blue with silver leaf flames. The second half was black with 24K gold leaf flames. Around 1250 of each were made. They have approx. $8,000 worth of factory installed extras and chrome. They are lowered in the back with Fox shocks and lowered in the front with a 34 degree rake as opposed to the then stock 32 degree. They have 140 tires on the back and have ostrich enlayed seats among a host of other extras. Mines for sale.

The one I saw today must have been the 2001 FXGWG2. The scarlet red on the bike was gorgeous. Do you know what parts of the frame were painted in addition to the front spoiler? The paint on the frame is unique, something I had never considered doing. I really wish I could get more detailed photos of this bike.
There is a lot of chrome-looks like the whole front end, swing arm, etc. are all chromed out.
I wish now I had gotten the guy's name so I could go over and photograph his bike. [sm=headbang.gif]
