A cheap, fast and easy lowering method is to buy lowering blocks from http://www.tamarackmw.com/tamarackmw_049.htm.

Work on all Dynas, good quality and fastg shipping. You can choose 1 or 1,75".

Shocks is best but if its about money this is a good start.

Here's a probably stupid question, but here goes. If my objective is to just bring the bike down enough to give me a little more firm footing on the ground, if I just lower just the back end with that accomplish my goal, or would I have to lower the front end as well.

You could get better footing by just lowering the rear. When I dropped mine I noticed it made the front end feel a little "light". After I loosened the trees and slid the forks up about 1/2" it was fine. Looking at your sig pic, a lower seat would give you an inch or so also.

Yeah, I'm considering a new seat. However I prefer to keep a solo seat (I'll never ride a passenger). The Reach seat doesn't come in a solo, at least for my bike, otherwise I'd consider that one. Any comments on the C C seats? There is one solo model I like, and the guy said he could lower/narrow it even more than their standard, for a few extra bucks. However I don't want to be sitting on a rock. Meanwhile - I did get some new boots with a higher sole and heel. Now I need to get the snow out of front of the garage and go try them on my bike!
