Anyone done this? I had my Hayabusa lowered when it was purchased due to the fact that I am a bit vertically challenged. I am wondering if this can be done and what can I expect it to cost.
A lot of people have done this. It seems real popular to go with 11" shocks in the rear. As far as cost, you can get shocks anywhere from $89.95 and up. Just depends on the level of quality you want. Not sure about the front though, never looked at what can be done there. I know HD has a kit to get the FXD & FXDC to the same specs as the Bob's and Low Riders but that there is the extent of my limited knowledge.
Yes you can lower the f*** out of a Street Bob.By the way I think slammed Busas rock.Probably the most practical set up would be the Progressive 11" and a LePera bare bones seat.If that doesn't get you low enough you can slide the tubes up in the triples as much as an inch.
Check out Burly Brand Slammer kit. http://www.burlybrand.com/newsite/pr...1&modelID=1070 I think they retail for $289 and includes rear shocks and front springs. It lowers about 2" all the way around. Hope this helps.
I just lowered my Lowrider. 11" 412 Progressives in the back - $195 shipped from Easternperformancecycle.com and Progressive front end "drop-in" lowering kit. The Drop-in kit in the same set-up as Burley's. That same outfit offers the drop-in kit for $112 shipped. I highly recommend that site. They had my order to me in less than 24 hours, free shipping.
Whole set up will take you an easy afternoon to do if ya got a lift and common hand tools. I haven't done the front yet cause I'm waiting on my local dealer to get my order in. With only the rear done the bike looks great, real low. cant wait to finish the front end.

I am running some 11.5" Progressive 440s and slid the front tubes about 1/2". I think it dropped the rear about an inch. The bare bones makes the seat height lower as well.
