Default Any advice on a bike jack?

Which ones work the best and why? I know that the dyna needs adapters for some jacks.

The biggest crowd pleaser seems to be J&S Jacks. They're pricey at almost 400 shipped, but are considered the best from what I've seen.

They will work with the Dyna, without an adapter.

I will be ordering on in a few weeks.

+1 on the J&S. My buddy got one for Christmas and it's NICE. I hope to get one this spring, my old red Sears lift has about had it.

I have been using the J&S the last two years and am very pleased with it. It does cost a bit, but how much do you have in your ride? It does not need any adapters and is very stable. My bike is stored on it right now. Yesterday I had the cover off and was sitting on it while I was thinking about what I wanted to do to it. Great product backed by a fantastic company. Made in America by Harley riders and they will back their product up.

I second the j & S jack. I have had mine for 2 years and it works like a charm. As stated above, you do not need an adapter for the Dyna. You have to watch what you are doing when you place it under the bike but once you get it positioned, you just pump it up.

The guys at J & S are great to deal with. when mine was delivered, there was a slight oil leak coming from the bottle jack. When I called them I was told that they had received a shipment of bottle jacks from their vendor that were defective. They shipped a new bottle jack out to me the next day and said don't bother to send the old one back. I gave it to a friend and he is still using it on his farm.

J & S is the way to go!

Jim

J&S is the way to go...great customer service, made in usa, they dont just stand behind their product they stand on it along with a bike....couldnt be happier with it..yes a lil pricey, but how much do you put on safety...put the bike up on this jack and you wont have to worry about it falling off.....

I bought a cheap jack, $69, at the local auto parts store. The box said it was rated for 1500 lbs. I've had the bike up on it several times, though for a few hours at a time not days at a time--no problems thus far.

Default -another + for J&S

I traded up from the red Craftsman this summer -- when I sold my Nightster and bought my Street Bob. No comparison. One is a toy, and the other is a tool. Don't even need to strap the bike down; rock solid -- even when applying lots of torque to axle nuts, etc.

Gentlemen,

Word of caution............... The HD frame adaters for the Dyna MAY fail. I had my WG on the jack doing some work and was putting some pretty good lateral pressure on the scooter, twisting it sideways a bit. The orange soft plastic part of the adapters is "TAPED", that's right, taped to the hard black plastic bases. The tape seperated, allowing the two parts to shift, causing the bike to flop over. Fortunately, the safety straps were in place and the whole thing didn't go *** over tea kettle. Was a little un-nerving getting the whole thing down off the jack alone without dropping on the floor. Serious "pucker factor" kicked in.

ALWAYS USE THE SAFETY STRAPS. Save my A** this time.
