Thanks for the responses. I actually don't live in the barracks, I live with my family in a military comunity. I am only goijng to be here until August, so the salt won't damage my bike too much, but it will still do something.
I actually thought about the bikebarn, and it is an option. I usually choose a home with a garage, but the cost of living is so high out here that I had to live in military housing, so I am going to try and wait on the bikebarn, and just use the cover that I have.
I have never heard of the charcoal idea Joe, but I will do it, can't hurt anything, and its cheap.
Tweakin, your bike is what inspired me to get the Vivid instead of the Denim.
i have an 06 street bob and I'm 2 blocks from the beach and no garage, I park the bike under a thing called "BikeBarn" look'em up on line. I ride the coast here in SoCal alot, 50,020miles and ya gotta look real hard to find the rust, I can't remember the last time I washed the bike. No worries here

I don't know where I will be going next, and I probably won't find out until July. The Army is really slow on getting orders to you. Hopefully not TX, no offense to those who live there, but I came from Ft. Hood, and the area is horrible. It didn't leave a good impression of TX.
I do want the bike barn, however, after spending the money on the bike, House Appropiations (the wife) will veto any significant spending. I am going to have to stick with the bike cover I have and try the charcoal trick. I did stop at a boat store and bought this de-humidifier bucket, maybe it will help.

I know how that goes. I'm head to Carson at the beginning of March and I got my orders about 2 weeks ago.
