Default 2009 Street Bob Taillight?.......Advice

I want to install the side mount license plate but then the bracket on the taillight is still exposed. Is there somewhere I can get a new taillight that will bolt up and not have that bracket on there? Any other suggestions?

My buddy installed a tombstone tail light on his 07 street bob and move the plate to the side..
I painted his fender after he welded the holes and smoothed it out.
This turned in to a project but he was pleased!

I'm there! I relocated my the license plate with the Kuryakyn side mount plate, only to leave the bottom part of the tail light bracket and holes exposed. I was aware I was going to encounter this. I got some good advice from a guy on here who goes by "tweakin". He relocated his plate, and then cut the part off the tail light with the exposed holes off, and smoothed it out with a grinder. I'm not very mechanically inclined, but I will be doing this myself on my 09 Bob tomorrow. I'll let you know how it turns out. This seems like a much simpler and less expensive route than a new tail light. I'm also a big fan of the new submarine style light on the 09' Street Bob.

I finally got my tail light cut and done. There's a post I have up right now describing the process, and showing the results. Good luck. .

For those of you in states that require inspection stickers, my inspection sticker was the perfect size of the left over bracket. I just stuck the sticker on that bracket.
