+1 on rounders statement...get a 2-1, no question, but also re read FXDC first post... good info there! I would also toss a SERT as a possible tuner but that alone woudl run your budget... if you hunt ebay and craigs list you can make this happen... if you are dead set on a 2-2, alot of people have them as extra... you can find some good deals. anytime you want real power out of the V twin you have to go to a 2-1... short shots may look cool but will not give your bike enough back pressure to get the bike on point... i bet you can do it but it will have to be used stuff and some good hunting. tuner is nessassary... if you have a SE bike do they not have a SERT?
I'm getting a pretty sweet refund, but $2500 of it goes to the new septic tank and drain field we just had installed last week. The wife and I are going to split the remaining 1800 on ourselves.
Soooo, $2500 goes right into the toilet????? J/K Sorry, couldn't let that line slip by.

I respectfully disagree...I had a Big Radius 2:1 and I hated it. I thought it sounded LAME and although there might have been a SLIGHT increase in HP It wasn't enough to notice by the seat of my pants so I sold it and put my Short Shots back on. They sound way better and like I said, I didn't notice enough power gain to put up with what I considered to be a pretty lame sounding Hog. Maybe a Thunderheader sounds better but the look of 2:1 just isn't my thing either. To each his own!
Not trying to be an A-hole here so don't take this the wrong way. But you have a $25k bike. Doesn't seem like you'd want to do this on the cheap. 2-1 exhaust is great for performance but only go that route if that is what you want. You can get some good deals online, especially for a tuner and air cleaner. You should plan on doing those no matter what you do with exhaust if you are going to upgrade your exhaust. But if you do it even semi-right, it's going to cost more than $500.
My question is, with the 110 engine, are stage 1 components going to do anything for you. If you don't know, I would check with the dealer. You may already have a SE stage 1 air cleaner and the ECM may already be tuned for that. It may still need some adjustment for different exhaust though.

A BR 2-1 is NOT a D&D fatcat or thunderheader. There is a nice difference between a D&D and a BR 2-2 as I can testify to that. The fatcat also sounds awesome, very exotic sound way better than the BR I had on there.
