The A/C cover in my sig pic is how I addressed the knee issue. $40 and a free T-shirt got me fixed pretty cheap.

OK, this is the air cleaner I have, with the cover removed. Without the huge cover (pictured here too), my leg has plenty of clearance.

Is there a smaller cover I can use?

Edit: looking at the part number it seems to be a Screaming Eagle Stage 1 air cleaner.

Anyone have the H-D round A/C cover, part 29153-07? Looks like it would be better.

I have one from Lucky Dog. It's wafer thin. The filter element is exposed.

I am new to forwards, so maybe yes part of it is getting used to it. I am same as you, 5'10" and 32" inseam. But I hate the A/C cover anyway, maybe a flatter one would help plus look nicer. The one that's on there is not stock, it has a raised center for no apparent reason.

Pardon my ignorance, but it's ok to have the filter exposed like that? Even in the rain?

I have the K&N filter. Have wash the bike with the filter exposed and no problems. Have been riding in the rain also. A shower cap over the filter works if you leave the bike setting in heavy rain.

Well, solved the problem. I got an HD "smooth air cleaner cover". Very low profile, now I've got the brake pedal easily. I think the aftermarket cover the previous owner had on there was way too thick.

Now, if it would only stop snowing I can ride it...
