I picked up this kit at the dealer today. I put one of these on my Sportster and it was fairly simple. Any "gotchas" in the Dyna install I might need to know about?
Also, it says to disconnect the battery, but can't I just pull the main fuse? that's what I did on the Sporty. Or is it even necessary to cut the power?
Lastly, what bulb part # from the auto parts store do the rear signals need?
Yep mine was right under the seat. I didn't disconnect the battery. They only say that to cover their butts. The wires right behind the battery box under the seat are the group of wires wires you want. Pull them out unplug them and match the plugs to the module, tuck it back in and swap out the lenses and there you have in 5 min. It's super easy!! The plugs are all different sizes and only go on one way so you would have to be very special to mess it up.
Very easy to install. Harley always says disconnect the battery to prevent accidental start-up, but how can the bike accidentally start, my key isn't even in the ignition.
Yeah, just did it. 5 minutes. Had to fish around a bit inside the seat area to find the correct wires, mine was not against the fender as in the photo. It was bunches and stuffed with all the other wires in there. It was similar when I did the Sporty.
I also replaces the smoked lenses/amber bulbs on the front with amber lenses and clear bulbs (like stock). I want to be as seen as possible!
